The Men stood, all day, around the meat on the grill, while the Women sat comfortably on the deck. The Men always had a beer in hand and Ladies were sampling wine and fruity cocktails. The Men wore T-shirts, shorts and sneakers and Ladies sported their new out fits with matching sandals and accessories.
When it was time to eat, Men put Meat, and lots of it, on their plate while Women put assorted salads on their plate and maybe a piece of meat on the side, but without the roll. Surprising enough, only the women ate the corn on the cob………I wonder what that means.
When it was time for desserts, Women ate the fruit and baked goods while the Men came back in for second helpings of Meat……..who are we kidding, they were back in for fourth and fifth helpings of Meat. However, I did see one man sneak a cupcake with the ladies and then went back out with the men with a chicken leg in his hand.
By the end of the evening, all the Men and Women joined together laughing and drinking, and yes, Indy 500 and Nascar were on the TV all day and night, which not a single person watched…… thank goodness the Grand Prix of Monaco was on at 8 am, that’s my favorite race to watch.
Well it’s Memorial Day today. Please take a moment to remember all the Soldiers who were lost fighting for this country and pray for the soldiers, who actively serve, to come home safe. Thank you to all the Men and Women in uniform, past and present!
